Sania Mirza Indian Tennis Player

Sania Mirza is a former Indian professional tennis player who is considered one of the most successful players in the history of the sport in India. Born on November 15, 1986, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Mirza started playing tennis at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the top players in the country.

Mirza made her international debut for India in 2003, and quickly made a name for herself on the WTA Tour. In 2005, she reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 27, and in 2015, she reached a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 1.

One of Mirza’s biggest achievements came at the 2015 French Open, where she won the women’s doubles title with her partner Martina Hingis. This made her the first Indian player to win a Grand Slam title in doubles, and only the second Indian player to win a Grand Slam title in any discipline.

Mirza retired from professional tennis in 2020, ending a storied career that saw her become one of the most successful players in Indian history.
