Keenan Succour Almeida | A Great Footballer

Keenan Succour Almeida is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Chennaiyin in the Indian Super League.

Born in Margao, Goa, Almeida started his career with SESA Football Academy before joining Sporting Clube de Goa in 2009. He made over fifty appearances for the club in all competitions before moving to Churchill Brothers S.C. in 2012. 

After spending two seasons with Churchill Brothers, he joined Bengaluru FC in 2014. He was part of the team that won the I-League title in his debut season. 

After spending two seasons with Bengaluru FC, he moved to Chennaiyin FC in 2016. He has also represented India at the under-23 level.

Keenan Succour Almeida Club career

Sporting Clube de Goa

Almeida started his professional career with Sporting Clube de Goa in 2009.[4] He made his professional debut for the club on 12 September 2009 against Mahindra United during the 2009 NFL season.

[5]He scored his first professional goal for the club on 19 September 2009 against Mohammedan during the semi-finals of the Durand Cup.[6] Almeida made thirteen appearances and scored one goal during his debut season with the club.[7]

Churchill Brothers S.C.

Almeida joined Churchill Brothers S.C. in 2012.[8][9] He made his debut for the club on 18 February 2012 against Mohun Bagan during the 2011–12 I-League season.

[10][11] Almeida scored his first goal for Churchill Brothers on 24 February 2012 against Salgaocar.

[12][13] He then scored twice more that season; once against East Bengal on 3 March 2012[14] and then again on 7 April 2012 against Pailan Arrows.[15] During the 2012–13 I-League season, Almeida scored one goal; which came on 3 March 2013 against Pune.

[16] During his two seasons with Churchill Brothers, he made thirty-four appearances and scored four goals across all competitions. 

Bengaluru FC

Almeida joined newly founded side Bengaluru FC in 2014 ahead of their inaugural season.

[17][18]On 22 November 2014, he made his debut for them against Mohun Bagan during the 2014 Federation Cup semi-final match which finished as a 1–1 draw at extra time and eventually went to a penalty shoot-out where Bengaluru won 5–3. 

In that match, he played sixty minutes before being replaced by C.K Vineeth as Bengaluru went on to win their first trophy since their foundation by defeating Mohun Bagan 3–2 on penalties after a 1–1 draw in extra time.

[19][20][21] On 7 December 2016, he scored his first goal for Bengaluru FC as they defeated Real Kashmir F.C. 10–0 away from home in I-League.

[22][23][24].During his two seasons with Bengaluru FC he helped them achieve qualification to AFC Champions League two times in a row as they finished runners up in I-League twice in succession as well as winning another I-League title and one more Federation Cup Trophy along with one Super Cup trophy..[25].

Keenan made forty six appearances across all competitions and scored five goals during his time at Bengaluru..[26].  

Chennaiyin FC 

After leaving football giants Bengaluru Fc after a successful 2 year spell , Almeida joined fellow Indian Super League side Chennaiyin FC prior to the start of 2016 ISL Season .[27][28]. 

Keenan had a very good start to life at Chennaiyin scoring 2 goals and an assist to win 2 man of The Match awards within the first 4 games of ISL 3 helping Chennaiyin get off to a great start.. Unfortunately, Chennaiyin’s form took a nosedive . 

Keenan continued to perform consistently throughout whole duration of season making 27 appearances out of which 23 were starts while scoring those 2 goals and an assist..[29]
