Babita Kumari Indian Wrestler

Babita Kumari is an Indian wrestler who has made a name for herself on the international stage. Born in Balali, Haryana, Babita comes from a family of wrestlers, with her father and uncle both being former wrestlers themselves.

Babita began training in wrestling at a young age, and it wasn’t long before she began to make a name for herself. In 2010, she won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in the 53 kg category, and followed that up with a silver medal at the Asian Games in the same year.

In 2012, Babita made her Olympic debut at the London Games, where she reached the quarterfinals before losing to Japan’s Kaori Icho. Despite the loss, Babita’s performance at the Olympics earned her recognition and she was named the “Best Female Wrestler” at the 2012 Wrestling Federation of India awards.

In the years that followed, Babita continued to dominate on the international stage. She won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the 55 kg category, and followed that up with another gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the same category. She also won a bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games and a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games.

In addition to her numerous international medals, Babita has also had success at the national level. She has won gold at the National Wrestling Championship six times, and has been named the “Best Female Wrestler” at the national championships on three occasions.

Despite her busy schedule and numerous accolades, Babita remains dedicated to her training and continues to improve her skills. She is a true champion in every sense of the word, and is an inspiration to aspiring wrestlers all over India.
