The History of Navjeet Dhillon
Navjeet was born in India and moved to Canada when she was just a young girl.
When she started school, she quickly realized that she didn’t fit in. She was bullied for being different and struggled to find her place. It wasn’t until she discovered track and field that she began to find her passion in life.
Navjeet started training hard and quickly began to excel at running. She soon caught the attention of Canada’s top track coaches and was selected to compete in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Unfortunately, a serious injury forced her to withdraw from the Olympics.
But Navjeet didn’t let that deter her. She continued to train and compete, eventually making her way back to the Olympics in 2012. There, she made history by becoming the first Sikh woman to represent Canada in the Olympics.

It hasn’t always been easy for Navjeet. In fact, her journey to Olympic glory has been full of ups and downs. But through it all, she has never given up on her dreams. That’s what makes her story so inspiring.
