Indian wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has had an interesting and up-and-down cricket career. He made his debut for the Indian national team in 2004 and was soon hailed as a cricketing superstar.

However, he struggled to maintain his place on the team and was eventually dropped from the squad altogether. But he made a comeback in 2017 and has since been a mainstay in the team, even captaining the side on occasion.

However, he failed to live up to the hype and was dropped from the national team after just two years. He continued to play first-class and List A cricket for Tamil Nadu but wasn’t recalled to the national team until 2017.

Dinesh Karthik’s Comeback

Karthik made a sensational return to international cricket in 2017, when he replaced an injured Wriddhiman Saha during an India-Australia Test match.
