Table Tennis in India has been on a range of Improvement over the past few years.

The main reason is the success of Indian Players at the International Level.

1. Achanta Sharath Kamal

If someone had to describe Sharath Kamal in 2 words, it should be ‘Real Fighter’.

The dedication this man has towards the game is immense and this probably makes him the Greatest Indian Table Tennis Player.

His career has been brilliant but he has faced all the ups and downs. He has gone through injuries, setbacks and failures in his career, but the most important fact is that he never gave up.

He kept on fighting till the very end and won many laurels that no one could.

2. Sathiyan Gnanasekaran

The one to succeed Sharath Kamal in the legacy of Indian Table Tennis is Sathiyan Gnanasekaran.

Sathiyan is the 1st Indian to enter Top 25 World Rankings.

A few months if you would have checked his name in the ranking list, you wouldn’t find him even in the Top 100, and now with some real hardwork and dedication he is in the Top 25.

He is an aggressive right handed player.

Sathiyan started this game at an early age and had no idea that he would build such a strong career out of it. He used to play Table Tennis in order to stay fit but later on took the sport seriously and defined his career in it.

He is an Engineer by education and still has managed to keep his game to that high level.
India has high hopes from Sathiyan in the upcoming major tournaments.

3. Manika Batra

Female Table Tennis is also not behind. This 24 year old sensation started her table tennis career at the age of 4. Her elder sister and brother used to play Table Tennis and thus had an influence on her.

Manika Batra has a shaker hand grip and is a right-handed aggressive player.

She has been a part of many successful campaigns for India.
2018 Commonwealth Games was the most successful campaign for her as she won 2 Gold and a Silver and Bronze.

2016 South Asian Games saw her 3 Gold Medals along with a Silver.

She has been extremely successful pairing up with Ankita Das and Mouma Das.
Manika definitely has a bright future ahead.

4. Mouma Das

She is one the senior players in the Women’s Team. She started representing India in Table Tennis since 1997.

Mouma Das won her 1st International Gold medal in 2nd Children of Asia International Sports Games’2000 in Yakutsk. Since then she has never looked back.
South Asian Games have been a platform where she has bagged her major medals. She has Gold in 2004, 2006 and 2016 each.

Mouma has also been a multiple time National Champion.

Das reached the quarterfinals of the women’s doubles event at the 2017 World Table Tennis Championships pairing up with Manika Batra and thus became the first Indian Pair to do so.

She holds the record of winning the most number of Commonwealth (Games and Championships) Medals in India in TT.

5. Amalraj Anthony

The 33 year old Amalraj Anthony has been a part of Indian Table Tennis for a long time now.

One of Amalraj’s greatest performances was against Sharath Kamal in the Finals of the National Table Tennis Championship in January 2012, where Amalraj emerged as a winner.

He has won the Arjuna Award in 2017 for his contribution in Table Tennis.

Along with Sharath Kamal, Amalraj won the Silver Medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

He was part of the team which won the Gold Medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
His team members were Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Sanil Shetty.
