Sreejesh belongs to a family of farmers. In his childhood he trained as a sprinter before moving on to long jump and volleyball. His coach at the Thiruvananthapuram asked him to take up goalkeeping.
Sreejesh made his junior national team debut in 2004 and senior national team debut in 2006.
He is in the international team for almost 6 years but has often lost his place to senior goalkeepers like Adrian D’souza and Bharat Chettri.
His journey has been a tough one belonging to a farmer’s family the Kit was absolutely unaffordable as it cost around ₹ 50,000 awarded as the Asia’s best junior goal keeper now Sreejesh has a sponsor and he has achieved his dream to the fullest.
Sreejesh has tied knots with Aneeshya who is a former long jumper and now a Ayuvedic doctor. The couple was blessed with a baby boy in 2017 and they named him Sreeansh.
Sreejesh is currently employed as Chief Sports Organizer with the Kerala government’s education department .
Sreejesh was awarded with the Arjuna Award and Padma Shri for his heroics in Hockey.
