2nd Indian to win a medal at Junior Athletics World Championships
Navjeet Kaur Dhillon hails from Amritsar, Panjab, is India’s track and field athlete. She came into the picture in 2014 when she won a bronze in the World Junior Championship 2014 and became second Indian to do so.
Navjeet comes from a sports family of Amritsar. Her elder brother Jasdeep (Jesse) Dhillon is an Indian International Shot Put athlete. He has won silver for India in South Asian Games.
Navjeet has won several medals while representing India. She won a bronze medal with the throw of 57.43m, in the commonwealth games 2018. Navjeet has a personal best of 59.18m which was recorded during the Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Tournaments, Patiala 2018. She is consistently doing well for last few years.
Other than her medal at the CWG2018, she has also won a couple of silver medals at the Asian U20 Championship in 2012 & 2014. She also bagged a gold medal three years ago at the National Championships 2015, by throwing a disc at the distance of 51.17m which is more than 6 meters shy of her throw at the CWG 2018.
