Lalengmawia, also known as Apuia, is a young and talented football player hailing from the northeastern state of Mizoram in India. He currently plays as a midfielder for Indian Super League team ATK Mohun Bagan and the Indian national team.
Born on October 26, 1998, Lalengmawia started his footballing journey at a very young age. He joined the local football academy, Chanmari West FC, and quickly rose through the ranks to become a regular in the team’s starting lineup. His impressive performances for the academy caught the attention of Indian Super League side NorthEast United FC, who signed him in 2017.
In his debut season with NorthEast United, Lalengmawia made a total of 16 appearances and scored one goal. He impressed with his passing ability and his ability to read the game, earning him the nickname “Apuia”, which means “brilliant” in his native Mizo language.

The following season, Lalengmawia was signed by ATK Mohun Bagan, where he has continued to impress with his performances. He has become a key player for the team, helping them reach the semifinals of the Indian Super League in 2019 and the final in 2020.
In addition to his club career, Lalengmawia has also represented the Indian national team at various age levels. He made his senior team debut in 2018 and has since become a regular in the squad. He was part of the Indian team that reached the final of the 2019 SAFF Championship and was named the tournament’s best player.
Lalengmawia is still in the early stages of his career, but he has already established himself as one of the most promising young players in Indian football. With his talent and hard work, there is no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him.
