Maharashtra Wins 2nd Khelo India Youth Games In A Row

The 3rd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games concluded in Guwahati, Assam on 22 January 2020. This sports fest lasted for 12 days starting from 10 January 2020.

These games are organised for hunting the grass root talent and giving them a platform to show their sporting skills.

As many as 20 sports were included in this year’s Youth Games. The Games are played at 2 levels; Under 17 school going students and Under 21 college students.

The Games were as exciting as ever and each and every player gave his/her all to win. There was a lot of sportsman spirit shown and one can simply get an idea about what kind of talent hides in rural and urban India.

Increasing the total medal count by 28 from last year, Maharashtra won the Khelo India Title race for the 2nd time in a row. With 78 Gold, 77 Silver and 101 Bronze Maharashtra stays at the top of the Medal Tally.

Haryana and Delhi are 2nd and 3rd respectively with 200 and 122 medals in total. the hosting state of Assam ranks 7 with 20 Gold, 22 Silver and 34 Bronze Medals adding up to 76 medals in total.
