List of Indian Field Athletes Who Qualified for the Asian Games 2018

In the month of August this year, India will participate in one of the major multi-sports events of the Asian continent, THE ASIAN GAMES. This year Asian Games are scheduled between the 18th August to 2nd September. The 18th edition of the Asian Games will be hosted by Jakarta & Palembang. India will face many sporting giants the events like China, Japan, South Korea etc.

At the 2014 Asian Games held in Ichelon India finished 8th in the medal tally with the total medal count of 57; 11 gold, 10 silver & 36 bronze. Out of 57 medals, India bagged 13 medals in the athletics events; 2 gold, 4 silver & 7 bronze.

At the previous edition of the Asian Games held in Incheon in the year 2014 India’s four times in a row commonwealth games medalist, Seema Punia bagged a gold in a discus throw. She became an only individual gold medalist in the athletics events at the Asian Games 2014. Apart from her gold medal India bagged another two silver & two bronze medals in the field events.

Out of the total 13 medals in the athletics event, India bagged 5 medals in the field events; 1 gold, 2 silver & 2 bronze.





Here is the list of the field athletes who qualified for the Asian Games 2018 based on their performances at the 58th National Interstate Senior Athletics Championships held in Guwahati. Many athletes were able to crack the qualification standards set by the Athletics Federation of India.
