Chess : Seven medal haul for India at the World Youth 2019

The World Youth 2019 ended on a good note for the Indian contingent as they won seven out of 18 medals. The biggest among them was the gold by Praggnanandhaa R in the Under-18 open. Vantika Agrawal, Srihari L R and Divya Deshmukh took home the silver medals in the U-18 Girls, Under-14 Open and Under 14-girls respectively. The Bronze medals were clinched by Sreeshwan Maralakshikari in the Under-14 Open, Rakshitta Ravi in the Under-14 Girls and Aronyak Ghosh in the Under-16 Open. This was the highest tally of medals achieved by any nation.
