Atletico de Kolkata, Bengaluru FC, FC Goa, Mumbai FC and NorthEast United will enter in the third round, each club having retained two players.
Chennaiyin FC will get to pick a player in the fourth round as it has retained three players.
With the number of foreign players in the team being reduced from 6 to 5, franchises will be looking to shore up their home players.
With INR 18cr as the total salary cap (INR 12.5cr for foreign players), there’s plenty of money to be spent and the owners would want to use it to the fullest to produce a competitive team for the upcoming season.
